Technistone: Redefining Premium Surfaces

Technistone: A Premier Worktop Solution

Unveiling Technistone

Renowned as a premium worksurface brand, Technistone leads the way in the creation of compact, durable, and non-porous engineered stone products. Primarily crafted from carefully hand-picked natural constituents like quartz and granite, Technistone transforms these raw materials into impressive and aesthetically pleasing surfaces, complemented by coloured pigments and crushed mirrors. Bound together by high-quality polyester resin, the final product is an array of straight, flat, and resistant slabs, available in various thicknesses and finishes.

The Conception of Technistone: A Meticulous Manufacturing Process

Technistone employs a comprehensive manufacturing process that ensures the utmost quality in every slab produced. The process begins with the careful inspection, sorting, and cleaning of raw materials. These materials are then blended together, and this mixture is evenly spread between two sheets of paper. The spread mixture is then subjected to a vibro-press machine in a vacuum environment, transforming it into a compact mass.

This compact mass is carefully placed in a curing oven for heating, and once cooled down, it forms a new slab. Each slab is then measured, calibrated to the desired thickness, and polished. The final slabs, with dimensions of 306 x 144 cm, can be cut into nearly any size. The process culminates with a rigorous quality control check before the slabs are safely stored in a warehouse, ready for dispatch to customers.

Outstanding Features of Technistone

Technistone is celebrated for its exceptional features. Its European quality, coupled with the precision of Italian Breton technology, ensures the highest standards of manufacturing. The use of over 90% natural ingredients and selected recycled materials underpins its commitment to sustainability. The result is a compact, pore-free material that is not just safe, but also adheres to stringent European and American standards.

Uniformity in colour and pattern depth is a distinctive feature of Technistone slabs. Sophisticated measurement techniques ensure the consistency of colour shades across all slabs. The seamless connection plates used in the production process further enhance the line patterns.

Versatility of Technistone: Beyond the Ordinary

Technistone’s resilience, effortless maintenance, and appealing design make it a highly versatile solution for a multitude of interior applications. Its hardness, compactness, and non-porous nature make it an ideal choice for kitchen worktops, bathroom vanities, wall coverings, and more. It’s also perfect for designing stairs, floor coverings, and even furniture. Its applications are boundless, making it an adaptable choice for various spaces, both large and small.

The material is available in different thicknesses (12, 20, and 30 mm) and a variety of colour shades across several original design collections. These collections include nature-inspired slabs, designs featuring veins of various sizes and colours, and unique designs that play with light using shards of glass and mirrors. Technistone is offered in three surface finishes: polished, matt, and terra – a 3D relief surface. The polished finish is particularly popular for its ease of maintenance and ability to make interiors appear larger.

How Does Technistone Compare with Other Worktop Materials?

When compared to natural stone, Technistone offers several significant advantages. It’s not only extremely durable but also boasts low absorbent properties, meeting the most stringent hygienic requirements. It’s an ideal choice for both residential and commercial applications due to its high resistance to bacteria and scratches. In terms of aesthetics, Technistone’s marbled designs are so natural-looking that they can easily be mistaken for real marble.

Weighing the Pros of Technistone

Just like any other material, Technistone has its strengths and weaknesses:-

Pros

  • Durability: Technistone is highly durable and resistant to scratches, bacteria, and staining. This resilience makes it a perfect choice for high-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Non-porous: Thanks to its non-porous nature, Technistone doesn’t absorb liquids, preventing the growth of bacteria and making it easy to clean and maintain.
  • Design Flexibility: With a vast range of colours, patterns, and finishes, Technistone offers great design flexibility. This makes it easy to match with other elements in your interior decor.
  • Eco-friendly: Technistone utilizes over 90% natural ingredients and recycled materials in some of its products, making it an environmentally friendly option.

Weighing the Downsides of Technistone

Cons

  • Cost: Technistone, being a premium product, comes with a higher price tag compared to some other worktop materials.
  • Heat resistance: While it’s resistant to low levels of heat, Technistone can be damaged by high temperatures. Therefore, it’s advisable not to place hot pots and pans directly on a Technistone surface.
  • Repair: If Technistone gets chipped or scratched, repairing it can be challenging and may require professional assistance.
